Steel imports will reach record in the year

The Brazilian steel market should close the year with a historic import record - about 5 million tons, or even more. The estimate is from the Steel Brazil Institute, which has just closely closed the September data. The numbers show that the country continues to be flooded with imported material. Last month, the volume from China and other countries, such as Russia, South Korea and Turkey, rose 138%compared to a year ago. In the year, flat, long, special steel imports and other types had a 58%jump.
