E-commerce: 2022 revenue record and up more than 20% in the number of consumers

Brazilian e -commerce revenues broke record in 2022, reaching R $ 262.7 billion, an increase of 1.6% over the previous year, according to research data conducted by Nielseniqebit. In addition, the number of e-commerce consumers in Brazil has grown by 24% in this same period. And among the main online purchases are foods and drinks, home and decoration items, construction and tools, appliances and health expenses.

The research also pointed to the profile of digital consumers. Most, according to the survey, is over 35 years old, and the representativeness of this range has grown throughout the year 2022 and adds more than 68% of the total audience. As for income, the importance of consumers who earn 4 to 10 minimum wages (R $ 5,208 to R $ 13,020), regardless of age group, increased.
